Join us for a day of exciting activity for children and families as we take over Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker, the Government’s Cold War ‘hideaway’. This unique and unusual space was operational from 1952 right through to 1994, and is now a fascinating underground museum open to all.

Come and savour a fabulous mix of drop-in events for families, including Haiku Poetry and Origami workshops led by CND’s Education Team; a Retro Games Room master-minded by Silver End Scouts, plus a host of other activities, film screenings and happenings.

Essex Book Festival is partnering up once again with Essex Children’s University, which provides 5-14 year olds with exciting learning experiences outside school.
