Join us for a wonderfully unique opportunity to see a silent film screening at one of the world’s oldest and least altered purpose-built cinemas. The stunning Electric Palace Harwich was recently refurbished and this is sure to be an experience not to be missed. Please note, the silent film is not included in the Criminally Good Day ticket deal.

This film will be screened using the cinemas original 1911 silent screen.

Sherlock Jr. (1924) (dir. Buster Keaton) – A film projectionist (and amateur detective) offers to solve the case of a missing watch, but is instead framed for the crime himself. Desperate to clear his name, the projectionist dreams of being the great Sherlock Jr., and in one of cinemas most iconic sequences, literally steps into the screen to bring his fantasies to life.

Accessibility

Wheelchair users can access the cinema from the street by a ramp (1 in 12) to the disabled access. On arrival please request a member of staff to open this door for you.

Seating in the Auditorium for wheelchair users
There are four places for wheelchair users near the front of the seating block and there are handrails down both aisles.

Toilets
The toilet for disabled people is located at the screen end of the cinema

Induction Loop
The cinema has installed an induction loop for use by individuals with hearing impairment.
