Lakeside Theatre and University of Essex drama students in partnership with Index on Censorship have created a short immersive performance, Propaganda: Hits from History, tracing the political rhetoric that makes up propaganda. Inspired by some surprisingly persuasive speeches from throughout history – from McCarthy to Churchill and from Kellyanne Conway to Stalin. The performance complements the panel discussion ‘Picking Apart Propaganda’ with Index on Censorship looking at how and why propaganda is used to persuade the public.
