Packing Shed Theatre Company presents Platinum Tales, a community theatre project which will use stories from seven different community groups to create a theatrical tour in Colchester’s Town Hall over the Platinum Jubilee Weekend. Each story represents a different decade of the Queen’s reign and provide a unique historical snapshot of the town over the last 70 years.

Groups will include, among others, the Royal British Legion, Headgate Theatre’s Act V, Refugee Action and African Families in the UK. In this way, we’ll not only be marking the town’s uniquely diverse history over the last 70 years but also be celebrating its diverse and multi-cultural make-up today.

The production will be made-up of seven mini performances, based on those stories, taking place in seven different areas within the Town Hall. The ticketed timed tours will take place every half hour between 12.00 – 5.00pm with audiences led around the Town Hall by a performer/MC.
