King of the Swamp was part of the 2021 Summer Reading Challenge and has been shortlisted for a number of Picture Book Awards.
“Brilliantly bonkers and chucklesome, Emmett and Mantle’s hugely enjoyable picture book finds a determined creature set out to save his swamp from an avaricious developer. Smuggling a thoughtful story of conservation and climate change into an anarchic knockabout, King of the Swamp will delight and educate all young readers.”
The Pet is an hilarious, laugh-out-loud, Cautionary Tale about what happens when you don’t look after your pet. It is illustrated by David Tazzyman, the award-winning illustrator of the ‘Mr Gum’ books. The Pet has been shortlisted for a number of Picture Book Awards.
“Digby David wants a pet, but not just any pet – it has to be TWICE as big as Reuben’s guinea pig and even better than Lily Jean’s cat. Daddy does what he’s told, and soon Digby has a guinea pig, which he loves with all his heart… for half a day. Digby demands bigger and better, Daddy’s hair gets greyer and greyer, when Digby’s dog gets boring too, he insists Daddy buy him… a gorilla!”

Catherine grew up in Newcastle and spent her childhood reading books and dreaming about having lots of animals. But when she grew up, she moved to the Big Smoke and spent her time making boring spreadsheets instead.
After advising a group of young girls to find a career that they loved and to follow their dreams, she decided to take her own advice! She packed up her husband and her three young boys, escaped to rural Essex where she started to write picture books and middle grade stories. She now spends her days surrounded by words, animals and her noisy young boys.
