Essex Gardens Trust in association with Beth Chatto Education Trust and Essex Book Festival invite entries to a competition for creative garden writing. This can be either fiction (short story or novel extract) or a life-writing/memoir, in which the garden/landscape is an essential element of character development, plot, or creates a specific atmosphere.

Prizes: first, £200 plus books, £75 for two highly commended entries plus books.

The competition is open to writers who live, work or study in the historic area of Essex

Entry opens June 19th and closes 12 noon on August 31st.
