Polish street artist YOLA (Jola Kudela) creates beautiful murals, claiming public space to celebrate the diversity of communities around the world. Her work recreates old masters, with locally based people taking the place of those in the paintings.
Storyteller Glenys Newton will be on hand to capture participant’s voices, personal stories and opinions about Harlow. We are also inviting arts organisations and community groups to come along to share, showcase and celebrate their work.
Come along, find out more, pose for the artwork in our photo shoot, and share your story.
The event is drop-in, but you can contact us or let us know you’re coming…
RSVP by registering at claim-your-space.eventbrite.co.uk or emailing [email protected]
This event is a partnership between Essex Book Festival, Essex Cultural Diversity Project and Polish Cultural Institute, bringing people together who want to champion and celebrate diversity in our communities. It is the second in our Stand Up For Diversity series of events.
The project also celebrates Harlow’s 70th Birthday, with the final artwork being revealed at Essex Book Festival’s Meet the Neighbours day in Harlow Library on 18 March.
