We are very excited about our programme of events for Essex Book Festival 2020.

The box office opens at 10.30am Monday 13 January so get booking to avoid disappointment.

Whether it’s our launch event with Val McDermid at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, or an evening with Susannah Constantine in South Woodham Library, we’re confident that there’s something to whet everyone’s whistle this March.

It may be a Hip Hop Theatre Workshop in The Folded Space in Southend that tickles your fancy. Or stepping back in time with Susannah Stapleton to uncover The Adventures of Maud West, Lady Detective at the Park Inn Palace Hotel as part of this year’s Golden Age of Crime Weekend. Perhaps the stars are your thing: in which case don’t miss the chance to hear space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock speak in person at the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford on Sunday 15th March.

With over 120 events, 46 venues and 300+ artists and writers in the mix, Essex is the definitely the place for bookworms this March.
