An exhibition showcasing a collection of work by Artbookart, a group of six artists who find common ground in their exploration of book structures as an art form in its own right.

Using Ulises Carrion’s broad description of  “a book as a sequence of spaces” Artbookart create artwork which challenges the usual perception of what constitutes a book.

Featured among the exhibits will be responses to Jeanette Winterson’s novel Lighthousekeeping tying in with the Book Festival theme.

Lola Swain and Sally Chinea from Artbookart will be leading two bookmaking workshops at Firstsite in Colchester as part of Essex Book Festival’s PLACE weekend:
