Join the ART:UP!

A collaborative poetry project involving writers and performers across Essex! Starts with an Open Mic and Poetry Reading!

Begins 19th June and runs throughout the year.

Essex Book Festival, University of Essex, Waxes Lyrical Chelmsford and Poetry Plus, Manningtree invite you to JOIN THE ART:UP! A year of poetry events including open mics and workshops at venues around Essex, concluding with a showcase at the 2026 Essex Book Festival.

Whether you have never written before, write your heart out in your journal or have been performing on-stage for years, we want to hear from YOU!
