A solo play about Robert Hooke by Siobhán Nicholas and performed by Chris Barnes.
A tale of intrigue and betrayal, exploring the C17th world of science and discovery. Robert Hooke was a fine artist, extraordinary engineer, an accomplished architect and a brilliant scientist who became the first curator of the newly founded Royal Society. Yet after his death, England’s Leonardo was written out of History; even his portrait mysteriously disappeared.
Then in 2006, a 300 year old manuscript was accidentally discovered in a cupboard in a Hampshire country house!
