The new millennium saw ‘Scandi Noir’ take the world of UK crime fiction by storm, demonstrating the distinctive appeal of dark deeds located in unfamiliar settings. Since then, readers have gone on to show an increasingly adventurous appetite for crime fiction from all over the world.
Our cosmopolitan line-up brought together Zygmunt Milosewski, a leading light in Polish crime fiction (Entanglement), Nigerian author Leye Adenle (Easy Motion Tourist), thriller writer Robert Karjel (The Swede) and Anya Lipska, a Brit whose crime thrillers are set in London’s Polish community (Where the Devil Can’t Go), to discuss the special allure of international crime fiction, guided by the award-winning Martin Edwards, Vice Chair of the Crime Writers’ Association.
